Acme Packet's Net-Net session border controllers (SBCs) support O1 wholesale services with advanced security features, including denial of service (DoS) attack protection, topology hiding, virus, worm, SPIT protection, and network access control. Routing and ENUM capabilities enable best voice path routing that ensures quality, redundancy and throughput to determine least cost routing (LCR) solutions. Call admission control and quality of service marking ensure high call quality. Acme Packet SBCs are equipped with overload protection and control, failure detection, traffic reroute, and recovery to provide the highest level of reliability to all VoIP customers.

O1 uses an extremely flexible LCR engine to select the path of outbound communications traffic. LCR supports O1's wholesale SIP trunking and enterprise customers to route calls intelligently based on cost, capacity and other custom policies. The result is improved service quality, lower rates and the flexibility to meet additional customer criteria.

O1's network uses Cisco Systems 12000 GSR Routing systems for all services from network core to edge. These systems allow O1 to offer industry-setting compatibility and the ability to rapidly deploy new services to customers months (and sometimes years) before the competition.

O1's network runs over a series of high-speed redundant fiber optic links for maximum performance and uptime. The network features redundant, multi-homed Internet peering to multiple Tier 1 service providers. The O1 network also features flexible hardware to support multiple interfaces that prioritize voice, video, and data services to meet diverse customer needs, and stringent service level agreements (SLAs). High-availability network support helps avoid planned and unplanned network downtime.
